Cluster Sites

The Cluster sites are designed to bring gifted students together at a central location one day per week for four hours.  This cluster setting provides opportunities for gifted students to interact with their academic peers.  This interaction is a vital component of a successful gifted program.  The instructors are certified in gifted education and have several years of experience working with gifted students.

The Cluster Sites are located at the following Birmingham City Schools: Gibson Elementary (Northeast Cluster Site); Norwood Elementary (Central Cluster Site); and EPIC Elementary (Southwest Cluster Site).

Gifted students in third grade through fifth grade are transported from their home school at 8:15 a.m. to their assigned Cluster Site via Birmingham City School buses.  The buses will return to the Cluster Site at 1:00 p.m. to transport students back to their local schools.

Student must board the Birmingham City School bus at their local school, or they will not be able to participate in the G.A.T.E. Program that day.
